Lauren Suchenski

So the slick fog of the world dissolves;
buttercream snow plasters the asphalt,
the frozen grass, the plated gold braids
of a winter that has tied itself around my waist;
bound to the memories of what has
tattooed itself across the thin faded lines
of my skin; gentle february and the crack
of your voice emanating from behind a door;
pressed, pressing, possessing,
mineyours and everything soft in the world
slipped together like a promise;
the end of my fingertips, a map of your bones;
lost and found and the firmament of your arms
captured in collusion; in blissful recompense,
in the full crash of your seismic activity;
all fumbled together in blue sheets
all woven together; perpetuity in the details
perpetuity in the fine print,
in the unspoken contract i will always uphold
